Reasons to ...Sunblock

A lot of people think sunblock should only be used on sunny days. But sometimes, the UV radiation can be high on cloudy days too.
The Ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun, is the main cause of skin problems such as sunburn, skin blemishes l, Melasma, premature ageing and skin cancer.
When I was in my  Dermatology training in London, I was really impressed with the amount of skin cancers we saw per week in our outpatient clinic sessions.
I remember performing a punch biopsy from a small and dark spot from a 27 yo patient. It turned out to be a Melanoma. Thankfully this was an early diagnosis. But she was a very observant girl and noticed the change in color seeking medical advice straight away.

In the ideal world, we should all try to have a routine everyday,  sunprotect the exposed areas before living home, and reaply every 2 h whenever possible. We should also wear a hat and suglasses with UV protection.
Remember, we cannot see the UV radiation but  it is there , and it will harm your skin if you don' t protect it.
So let' s sunprotect and enjoy the life outdoors!
